Hi! My name is Jae.

I’m terrible with introductions, so I’ll just let you in on a few things about myself: (1) I hail from Manila, but have called San Diego my new home since April 2015; (2) I’m an Industrial Engineering graduate—worked as a Production Editor for a UK-based publishing company for nearly five years, then as a Technical Writer for a pharmaceutical company (where my husband Roan worked, too) for two years, and now as a QA Specialist II for a leading company in the medical devices industry; and (3) Roan and I’ve been married since December 2013, but we’ve known each other since we were 15 (no, we’re not high school sweethearts).

Welcome to SCATTERBRAIN! This blog has been around since 2010, and the blog name hasn’t changed since. What I write in this ‘brain dump’ have evolved into a lot of different things over the years. SCATTERBRAIN is a chronicle of sorts, a repository of personal thoughts and experiences about my new life as an immigrant in the United States. I blog about our travels and current lifestyle often in this space, so if these are right up your alley, then this is a good place to hang around.

All entries are personally written by myself unless stated otherwise. If you are concerned with the content, or wish to use anything from this site, please get in touch with me via my contact form. When you have time to spare, do read the FAQ page to answer common questions that you may have.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you stay awhile!
