I don’t think I mentioned in my previous post that we opted not to return to the Space Needle as initially planned, although it’s right next to the Pacific Science Center. We figured that our trip there the night before had been satisfactory, so we opted to drive 5 miles further north to the Woodland Park Zoo, our final stop for this trip before we head back to Spokane.
Sunday was our second and last day in Seattle. As much as we wanted to sleep in, we had to be up early, and go about the rest of our day since we’re driving back to Spokane the same night. We wanted to fuel up for the long day ahead of us, so we searched for a local breakfast/brunch place that we don’t have in California. We ended up going to the Pancake Chef near the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which was kind of a bad idea because the service was horrible. We must have waited for more time than we should, which was a time less than what we have left for the day. The food wasn’t any more special, too.
As much as I wanted to share all adventures from our 24-hour trip to Seattle, I couldn’t, so I broke them into several parts. Though extremely exhausted from exploring the Seattle Aquarium and hopping on a Harbour Cruise, we psyched ourselves into scratching as many places off of our itinerary for our first day.
If I’m being completely honest, our trip to Seattle required a lot of energy to power through the day. Since we were only staying a little more than 24 hours in the city, we had to fit a lot of things and places into our itinerary. Following our almost six hours drive from Spokane to Seattle, we only stopped at our hotel in Tukwila, a city south of Seattle, to check in and freshen up before hitting the road once again.
If we thought our first day in Spokane would be a long one, then our Spokane to Seattle road trip took us what felt like forever and a day. Roan willingly drove the entire time, leering at each of us girls as we sneak a nap on his behalf. He managed to take a quick video of us sleeping comfortably in our seats (NOT RECOMMENDED) while he listened relentlessly to Zayn’s Pillow Talk on the local radio, which might have been played at least once every hour.
